Goulburn Haus

DESIGNER / Trent Sacilotto

This project was personal, as it was for my Nonna, (grandmother).

The house wasn't just design to facilitate a need, but to tell a story, to provide a place of comfort with the simple pleasures being provided.

With entry via a wide red front door, the first view seen as the door opens is of the internal courtyard, instantly soothing upon entry, the walkway wraps around the courtyard, with double glazed windows, this brings in light and thermal comfort throughout the day.

Containing 4 bedrooms, the layout allows for conversion into an office upstairs and downstairs, whatever the future may hold.

As you follow the downstairs hallway you lead into the open plan kitchen & dining, with a sunken lounge.

You are forced to take in the view of the Wollondilly river, before settling into the space.

Outside we have the hearth, sunken into the ground for the users to enjoy in winters and a plunge pool to enjoy in Goulburn's brutal summers
